Current Artist - Stephen Skinner
Stephen creates vibrant works inspired by his interest in all aspects of creativity involving design and colour. He is a conceptual artist who is giving significance to form through mixed techniques, eliminating, building and ultimately modelling his abstractions.
Through his work, Stephen experiments with the physical quality and limits of paint and influences came from artists such as Miro, Monet, Dali and Richter.
Painting straight from his imagination, he explores the use of various media – charcoal, pencil, acrylic, pastels, oils and synthetic polymer – and produces strong and aesthetic abstract images reflecting his fascination with line, colour and form.
This spontaneous style, approach and rhythmic use of colour produces diverse and dynamic canvasses. Stephen’s most recent work is about the relationship with paint and its physical qualities, patterns found in nature and surrounding environment.
